The class 60s are the most recent British built diesel locomotives, built at the Falcon Works of Brush in Loughborough. Powered by a Mirrlees, eight cylinder, 3100hp 8MB275T engine, with a Brush alternator, and a top speed of 62mph they were built specifically for heavy freight work due to a high tractive effort and low gearing. A total of 100 locomotives were built and all are currently owned by EWS.
This site aims to detail any significant happenings to each loco and have at least one pictorial shot of each loco, any assistance with this will be gratefully received.
